About Dana
Dana first began practicing yoga in 1999 whilst working full time in Sydney’s CBD. She had studied and then worked in Sales, Marketing and Tourism in Sydney & the UK.
Once she started practicing yoga it was not long before she realised the benefits of yoga both physically and mentally and longed to be no other place than yoga class.
A 16 year background of RAD classical ballet and a fully qualified and accredited group fitness leader with Fitness Australia since 1993, Dana knew that yoga teaching was her destiny.
She began teaching yoga in 2001 and since that time has devoted her life to yoga teachings, having spent weeks away at the Sarasvati yoga ashram living and learning yoga. Dana completed her Diploma of yoga teaching through Sarasvati yoga association in January 2004. She continued her yoga studies, practice and teachings and in early 2008 Dana became a level 2 member of Yoga Teachers Association of Australia. Dana has full Teaching membership with International Yoga Teachers Association IYTA and Yoga Australia and holds a Post Graduate diploma in Pre and Post Natal Yoga with International Yoga Teachers Association IYTA. She has also completed Magic Monkey Kids Yoga Training and Zenergy Yoga Training for Kids Yoga including toddlers, children, tweens, teens and also Zenergy Yoga Training for Kid’s Yoga Therapy.
Her Hatha yoga classes are fun and energising, building strength, flexibility and healthy bodies and minds.
She teaches Adults, Teens, Seniors, Special Needs, Chair yoga, Kids Yoga, Prenatal / Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Hatha Vinyasa Yoga classes, Mums and Bubs Yoga, Yoga Nidra/Relaxation, Pranayama/ Breathing and Meditation.
In 2007 she teamed up with Vicki Hansen from Medicine music and together they produced 2 x guided relaxations which can be enjoyed by anyone of any age in need of relaxation, peace and calm. You simply lye down and listen to the guided relaxations to restore energy, inner peace & clarity of mind. She believes the power of Relaxation/ Yoga Nidra is amazing.
These guided relaxations are called Yoga Nidra- Blissful relaxation for mind and body and can be enjoyed on Itunes, Spotify and Apple music. The cover has a purple lotus flower. These links can also be found on our website under Prices
She also holds a Post Graduate diploma of Pre & Post Natal Yoga with IYTA (International Yoga Teachers Association) having successfully completed modules in Pre and Post Natal Yoga Exercise, Labour, Active Birth, Birthing, Baby Massage and Benefits of Touch, Post Natal care and Mums and Bubs yoga.
Dana is passionate about empowering woman during their pregnancy and birth. Yoga has lots of positive tools to help woman connect with their beautiful baby, enjoy their time being pregnant and prepare for the birth of their baby & beyond. Dana and Vicki teamed up again in 2016 and launched their guided relaxations for a Mindful Pregnancy. These guided relaxations which include breathing exercises can be purchased via Itunes, Spotify and Apple Music and also downloaded from our website under Prices . Sharing the love and light of pregnancy and birth.
In October 2023 Dana became a level 3 – Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia having 20 years of yoga teaching experience, yoga studies and yoga teacher training.
Her passion of yoga extends to all ages and her yoga practice provides balance and energy. She encourages everybody to practice yoga to create strong bodies, healthy minds and true inner happiness.
She truly believes that yoga is our savour to injury, disease, stress and aging. It is never too late to start yoga “.. as today is the start of the rest of your life.”
Beyond yoga she enjoys being mum to 2 adorable girls, spending time with family and friends, cooking, walking her dog, swimming, listening to her favourite music and reading.
